We not only sell and install custom crafted doors, but we also install fences, rails, and mailboxes. All of our products are covered by one of the longest warranties in the Memphis area. We have over 80 years of combined experience and strive to provide an enjoyable experience.

Letter from the Owner


Dear Friend,

My name is Tony Russell and I am the owner of American Door. This company was established in October of 1999. Three people knew there was a better way to operate a security door company (Mike Richard, Bill La Fitte and Me). We all three had worked in a number of security door companies but not one of us was satisfied with the status quo. I have always said if a company made an extra effort to do what they said they would do, the company would succeed. Well in 1999 two technicians with 40 years combined experience and one of the most knowledgeable salesmen in the city of Memphis, opened American door. When we opened this store I told everyone if we do this we are going to do this right or not at all. When I installed doors for someone else I would always do my best as if that was my own mother’s door. And today I still feel the same way. That is my work on that customer’s home and they use it everyday. We grew out of a small showroom/prep area in the back corner of a shopping plaza, barely had room for 10 showroom doors and a desk with hardly any parking in our store front. Today most of our customers are repeat customers and referrals and that is my personal goal. Also today we have a maze of doors to see in our showroom, plus several other products to offer including hand rails, gates, fences, window guards, porch columns, mailboxes, now offering emergency prime door replacement and look for other great services coming in the future. In 2008 we lost one of the founding partners to an illness, he is missed very much. Luckily we found an industry veteran, (Larry Johnson who has our same objectives) to fill some big shoes and he’s done it well. I want to thank God and you for your support and giving me a chance to tell this story.
